General Review

General Review by Joan Ness

When I moved to the sunshine coast I looked for a Women’s gym. The friendships I have made since coming here have been the best.

When I first joined here, my body flexibility was zero, I couldn’t stand for any length of time and to do the ironing and washing up and even bending to do up my shoe laces was painful in my back.

Now I’m Happy HAPPY me

I can do all of this now without pain and all it took was a regular 45 minute session out of my day to do strength training and a fun cardio class or one of the other classes.

IT’S A GYM WITH A DIFFERENCE, it treats everyone the same regardless of age or size, you are made welcome and feel very comfortable. From the very moment you enter the class, you work as little or as hard as you want. The owner Angie and her staff make your 45 minute sessions enjoyable. You know you have worked hard too. I know I enjoy every minute.

We do dress-ups sometimes too which is so much fun and I really enjoy creating some fun outfits for these days. I’m so lucky to have my group of friends. We regularly go for coffee and other get togethers.

So, if you want to meet a fun, friendly lot of ladies,
come along and join us
You won’t regret it.

It’s the best thing I did.
Love it!

General Review by Pauline Brockie

I got approval from my specialist to start exercising on strength training machines. I was on a walking frame at the time and slowly became stronger and stronger. My doctors were so impressed that I was able to stop using my walker. I would not be where I am today without having done this strength training.

  • What I love about Move Stronger fitness is the fantastic coaches who aim to get the best individual results for us ladies.
  • Our timetable sessions change daily to help motivate us and keep it interesting.
  • The friends you make with all the ladies and catching up with them most days to do our strength training session together gives you a good start to the day.

To any ladies out there who are thinking of joining a gym, I would highly recommend MOVE at Little Mountain, Angela the owner and coach is a lovely lady. She organises the classes and they change every day and there are so many to choose from which keeps us on our toes. They are designed to improve your strength, balance, and fitness especially as we get older. Angela has been my coach for 7 years and I love it all. Some of my favourite classes are step, balance, salsa, yoga, walk, tai chi, just to name a few.

For our workouts we have a group warm up first, then with the machines we do different things: Sometimes we do 2 SETS of two machines for either 45 seconds, sometimes 3 SETS of 30 seconds or 3 SETS of 45 seconds or even 4 or 5 sets of 30 seconds. Like I said it varies all the time. Then we either stretch if it was a longer strength training session or we do one of the classes first. It’s a whole 45-minute workout and we always come out smiling. Sometimes we even go for a coffee afterwards. So, any ladies out there who would like to improve their strength and fitness then please give MOVE a go, I’m sure you won’t regret it.
